Topic: Daniel’s Dose: Adventure 4- God’s way, never brings shame!
Bible Reading: Daniel 1
Memory Verse: Daniel 1:15
At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food.
Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you doing? I hope and pray that you started your day on a positive note! What do you think about the Daniel’s Dose series so far? Are you enjoying it? Are you being blessed by the series? Have you learnt a thing or two from the messages posted this week? Reach out and let us know! We would love to hear from you!
Today is the last day in the month of April. The past two months may have been a bit gloomy, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. I pray that the month of May would be a better month. It will be a month whereby you encounter God’s Grace and Mercy over your life. Amen!
As humans, one of our greatest fears in “shame”! We cannot stand to bear the embarrassment, the jokes from others and the societal pressures that come with shame. As Christians, shame is not our portion. Why (you may ask)? This is because our Father, God, sent His Son, Jesus, to come and die on the cross to take away all the shame and pain we (His children) has ever experience or will experience in our lifetime. This is a small fraction of the display of God’s love for us.
As a child of God, why do you think about shame in your life! If your Father sent his Son to bear all the shame; shame should not even be part of your vocabulary! With a father who loves you with no bounds, do you think He will allow you to be put to shame? Not at all!
All these thoughts of shame are from the enemy. The enemy wants to get a hold of something of yours; he tries to play with your thoughts. Once he has been able to get you riddled with fear, he has won! Do not give him the chance to do so! Immediately the thoughts of fear and shame come to mind, you must not let it linger in your mind. You have to fight it. This is a huge battle. A lot of people are expecting the enemy to come to them physically; however, most of the battles we fight against the enemy are in our minds; in our thoughts. Stand firm in the Word and in your faith in God; these are the weapons you need to fight the enemy.
In Daniel 1:13&14, we see that the chief eunuch was afraid of what his master would say if they (Daniel and his friends) were not fit- the reason being they refused to eat or drink from the Kings table. Daniel then asked him to test them by providing vegetables; as their meal. Daniel 1:15 (which is our memory verse for the day) shows us that at the end of the test Daniel and his three friends were looking better and healthier than other young man that ate from the king’s table.
I am sure that if many of you were to have been in Daniel’s shoes; you would have begun to second-guess the decision to eat vegetables. You might wonder how eating just vegetables would be more nourishing as compared to the food that is available on the king’s table. Then fear of failure and shame kicks in. You think to yourself, “Everyone will judge us for refusing to eat from the King’s table. They would laugh at us and our God!” A majority of Christians would have thought this way! That’s the sad fact. Christians are becoming more physical and materialistic that they forget the principles of living a Christ-like life. It has become increasingly easy for the enemy to win! As Christians, this is not supposed to be so! We have been equipped with everything we need to overcome the enemy; however, we are not focused! We think we can do things on our own; we have left the manual and the instructor, and we are fighting “impossible” battles on our own.
Today, the Holy Spirit wants to let you know that shame is not the portion of a child of God! Have faith in everything you do for God! Most importantly, the Holy Spirit wants to remind us to focus on God! We, as God’s children, must redirect our lives to our Father, our Maker! We have the wrong priorities as Christians; that is the main reason behind a lot of the things we go through. We are missing a lot of the fundamentals and the enemy is playing with our minds and emotions. O child of God, arise! God has given us several chances to arise! The time is now! Act now! Act before it is too late!

IMPORTANT NOTE!!!
The prayer below is for anyone who does not know God or maybe has been apart from God for a while. God is here to pour His favor over your life. All you have to do is call out to Him. Make that decision today!
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out!
